Planning your visit
We offer weekend reptile sessions every Saturday and Sunday. Each visit runs in a 90 minute time slot to ensure the safety and welfare of our reptiles. All visits must be booked in advance so we can prepare the space and keep groups small, calm, and personal.
During your session, you’ll enjoy a fun and interactive experience with our expert handlers. They’ll introduce you to each reptile, explain how they’re cared for, what they eat, and share their individual stories.
You’ll also have the chance to have your photo taken with a reptile of your choice and, if you wish, gently touch them under supervision. This helps us make sure the reptiles stay calm and stress‑free.

A Personal Message from Evan — Founder of Walking With Reptiles
Ever since I can remember, I’ve been fascinated by reptiles. It all started with watching Steve Irwin on TV — his enthusiasm for crocodiles and reptiles was infectious, and it sparked something in me that never went away.
When I was 11 years old, I begged my dad for my first pet snake. Looking back, I think he might regret saying yes, because my collection has been growing ever since. To buy that first snake, we held a car boot sale, and with the money we raised, I brought home a beautiful Royal Python named Razor. From that moment on, my love for reptiles only deepened.
Fast forward 12 years, I was invited to give a talk about my reptiles for Essex Young Farmers. I was nervous — it was completely new territory for me — but it turned out to be a huge success. A year later, they asked me back to run the educational tent at the Essex Young Farmers Show, giving children the chance to learn about snakes and lizards up close. Around 300 children came through that tent, meeting the reptiles, asking questions, and even handling them. Seeing their excitement made me realise how powerful these experiences can be.
A close friend suggested I turn this passion into something bigger — and that’s where Walking With Reptiles began. From there, I found a location, built my facility, and in December 2025 we were officially granted our Animal Activity Licence.
My goal is simple: to give both children and adults the chance to learn about, appreciate, and get up close with some of the most incredible reptiles in the world.
